Akon Previews 'Akonic' Album at NY Listening

Akon enjoy restore coming out of a rather quiet two years among "Akonic," a dance-heavy pop album right now slated for a Nov. 23 release on Konvict Muzik/Universal Motown. Songs coming out of the Senegalese artist's fourth effort were previewed last dark (Sept. 21) at a listening conference on MPD in New York.

 

The septenary shanty frisk off the album mixed call-and-response hooks, excessive percussion and Auto-Tuned vocals, with "Give It To 'Em" tweaking Akon's peach until it emerges around unrecognizable in the chorus. "Drop Down Low," "Hold You" also "Be Me" persevere the uptempo dance vibe, among Akon playfully singing over the recent track, "Life's a bitch, also yes I abstain her/I wouldn't art her for no other."

 

"Time is Money," featuring Black Mafia arm Big Meech, exhibit a harder street-rap sound, although the synth-heavy "Nosy Neighbor" forfeit Akon spying on a spouse from his lunette window as she is "getting naked." The set's focal point was club-ready first single "Angel," which combined soft, romantic verses with an infectious refrain. "I'm looking on an angel, also gather me what I say/She got the exclusive affair glowing," Akon sings gone a pulsating beat.

 

Originally titled "Stadium Music," "Akonic" follows relevant Akon's 2008 disc "Freedom," that spawned Hot 100 percuss "Right Now (Na Na Na)" also "Beautiful" also enjoy sold 762,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
